JULY (7 GAMES): 2, Off July 5th, 7, 9, 12 (DH)

PLAYOFFS (4 teams, best of 3 series): July 14, 16, 18 (if nec.)

CHAMPIONSHIP (2 teams, best of 3 series): July 19 (2), 21 (if nec.)

CLARMACS WINS HABL CHAMPIONSHIP (2-0) over Hudson.


Worcester Black Sox win the HABL Regular Season. They finish 2nd in the Stan Musial Mass/RI Districts, and finished 3rd in the NE Regionals in Albany, NY.

Worcester plays Easton Saturday, if they win, they will advance to the Regional in Albany, NY and forgoe their #1 seed in the HABL playoffs. If they lose to Easton, and Swampscott loses to Easton, the Worcester will play Swampscott for the chance to advance to the regionals.

Worcester lost to Rockland 4-3, Clarmac's beat Braintree 10-0 in 5 innings, mercy rule. Hudson lost to Newburyport 8-7.
Hudson beat Lama, Worcester beat Allies, and Clarmac's lost to Brothers 6-1.
On Sunday, July 27th, Worcester will travel to Newburyport, Clarmac's will host Canton and Hudson will play North Shore. All games will begin at 2pm on Sunday.

Worcester Black Sox to host Mass/RI districts • Mon Jul 21
#1 HABL seed Worcester Black Sox will host the Massachusetts/RI Stan Musial district tournament this Saturday, July 26 at 12:00 p.m. at the Mayo Elementary School. The four team bracket will include: #1 HABL team; Worcester, #4 Cranberry League team; Rockland, #2 Rhode Island team; Allies, and #3 North Shore team; Peabody. The two fields will be located at the following schools.

Managers have until 5:30 p.m. Tuesday night, July 15th to schedule all make ups or else they will be scheduled for you. This was mentioned prior to the start of the season and its getting toward the end of the season. If games are not scheduled by Tuesday night, then expect to see these games scheduled on Monday, Wednesdays, or Fridays through the end of July. All make up games are relevant to seeding in the district tournament.

Changes to game locations • Thu May 29
The 2008 schedule (locations only) have recently been changed for all WPI games. Worcester County Blacksox are still working out some of their home field locations. For now, we have listed all home games at Anna Maria College. Please check the schedule before any games vs. Worcester for up to date locations.
HABL Opens 12th Season • Mon May 26
The Hockomock Amateur Baseball League will open it's 12th year in existance on Sunday, June 1st. All six teams will take part in a double-header. Clarmac's @ Hudson for a rematch pf last seasons championship series. Franklin A's travel to Blackstone @ Roosevelt Park. And the newest powerhouse to enter the league; Worcester County Blacksox to take on LCC Red Sox @ Dean College. Good Luck to all the teams involved in this years HABL.

The Franklin Clarmac's Baseball team has recently showed their support for Dean College Athletics by donating to their Dean Brigade fundraiser. Blackstone A's hold tryouts SUNDAY, APRIL 20th • Mon Apr 14
ON Sunday, April 20th, 5:00 p.m. @ Roosevelt Park in Blackstone, George Sergi (president, Blackstone Youth Baseball) will conduct open tryouts for anyone wishing to play on the Blackstone A's, Stan Musial division. Players are encouraged to attend this tryout and be ready to go at 5:00 p.m. Bring your own equipment (bats, gloves, spikes, etc) and be stretched and ready by 5pm. This will be the only tryout for HABL teams.

District Tournament takes place of State Tourney • Tue Apr 8
We just received word that the Stan Musial division will not have a Massachusetts state tournament this year. Instead, we will partake in a 16-team District tournament from July 26-August 3. The 3 teams from the Rhode Island Amatuer Baseball League, 3 teams from the Hockomock League, 5 teams from the Cranberry League, and 5 teams from the North Shore League will round out the bracket. The top two teams in the districts will advance to upstate NY to play in the Stan Musial North Atlantic Regional Tournament from August 6-10 in Albany, NY.

League Meeting • Fri Feb 15
ON Tuesday, March 11th, 7:00 p.m., a mandatory HABL League Meeting will be held at Cole's Tavern, 553 Washington Street, Franklin MA. Items to be discussed include league dues, insurance, umpires, league rules, state tournament, playoffs, make up games during the season. All team managers and coaches should make every effort to attend this important meeting.
